For this course, you will need the use of a Mac or Windows computer, not older than 5 years old.
For Mac, you need to be running Mojave 10.14 or Catalina 10.15. Older versions are not supported.
Please follow the MacOS directions
For Windows, you need to be running Windows 10 (64-bit). Older versions are not supported.
Please follow the Windows directions
Unfortunately, we do not officially offer technical support for Linux.
But the good news is that if you are running Linux, you are likely technically proficient enough to be able to support a Linux programming environment, on your own!
If you decide to forge ahead with Linux, we suggest using Ubuntu Linux 18.04.
As a starting point you can follow most of the Windows Instructions and adjust accordingly.
That might seem strange, but Windows 10 now comes with the ability to run a Linux environment right inside it (with WSL), which we are using the course. So the setup should be substantially similar.
If you choose to continue with Linux, note that you’ll be on your own for the rest of the course; we will be unable to provide any assistance during or out of class time.
If you require official technical support, please find a way to run Mac or Windows.
